What is the Bloomlife Energy State?

At Bloomlife, we’re working on a feature that will allow you to check in with your body to find balance and work towards reducing your daily stress. We call it Bloomlife Energy State.

Energy State as a metric represents a physiological measurement of stress – called Heart Rate Variability (HRV). HRV is based on your heart rhythm which is regulated by both internal and external factors like physical and emotional stress.

Everyone has their own “good” range of HRV measurements so we will not show you a specific number. Instead, Bloomlife tailors its readings to your body and your pregnancy by first calculating your unique baseline. From there, the session summary page will display your measurements as either going up or down from this baseline range.


ENERGY STATE MEASUREMENTS

There are three types of Energy State measurements to help you check in on the positive and negative energy affecting your daily wellbeing:

CALM

CALM - bloomlife energy state measurement

When you remain within your baseline range, you will see your measurement as Calm. Seeing the Calm measurement is a reminder that everything is going well and you can maintain your current practice.

 

 

Drained

When you are the most stressed, the measurement shifts down. We call this range Drained because emotional stress can negatively affect how you feel throughout the day. The  Drained measurement is a reminder to go easy on yourself and take some time to recenter.

When you are the least stressed, your measurement shifts up. We call this range  Energized because it indicates a level of “super calm” that may feel like extra energy. The Energized measurement is a reminder that you are doing great and you can take advantage of the moment.

 


The mind and body are intimately connected, especially when it comes to pregnancy, labor, and birth. Research shows that stress can affect a woman’s pregnancy, view on birth, her pain levels during labor, labor progression and postpartum recovery.  

Like contractions, Bloomlife Energy State aims to put better information into your hands. By tailoring to your body, we want to support your ability to find the balance you need to keep your mind and body healthy.
