This policy applies in conjunction with bloomlife Terms of Services, service contracts and informed consent procedures.
Data collection and use
bloomlife collects information about you through bloomlife pregnancy and electronic body monitoring products (the “Device”). bloomlife also collects information about you, through hosted software offerings and applications (the “Apps”) and other services that are provided by third parties through the bloomlife platform (collectively, the “Service”). In addition to information that is collected automatically by the Device, you may also choose to provide additional information to us through your bloomlife account. This is described in detail below.
The Device collects data about you such as the number of, frequency of, duration of and time between your contractions, your uterine activity (curve) and your heart rate. The Device also collects the number of steps you make, your sleep duration, your sleep quality, your body position during sleep, your stress level, your cardiorespiratory fitness, baby movements, baby kicks and baby heart rate, and transmit this data to bloomlife. Data collected by the Device about your health, wellness and pregnancy is transferred from the Device to our servers.
bloomlife uses the data collected by the Device and App or provided by you through your bloomlife account (see below) to provide you with inferences about your health and wellness.
bloomlife may also use data gathered in the Service, to develop and improve the Devices. Any data used for such development purposes will be stripped of any directly identifying details such as you name, date of birth or contract details. You may refuse consent to such use of your de-identified data when you set up your bloomlife account (see below).
Your rights with respect to the data bloomlife collects
The collection and use of your data is based on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. You will be asked to provide your consent when you set up a bloomlife account (see below).
In accordance with Data Protection Law you have a right to access all data collected about through the Device or your bloomlife account. You also have the right to require bloomlife to correct any data which is incorrect, as well as the right to restrict the purposes for which the data are used or to object to any such uses. You are also entitled to ask bloomlife to provide you with a portable version of your data in a common machine-readable format.
Your bloomlife account
In order to receive bloomlife services and access the data collected by the Device, you must create a bloomlife account. When you create a bloomlife account, we ask for your email address. Your email address will be your bloomlife account user name, which you will use to log-into your account.
You can also create your bloomlife account using a different credential such as a Facebook or Google+ account. We will ask permission to access basic information from that account, such as your name, and friend list. You can stop sharing that information with us at any time by removing bloomlife’s access to that account. We will access your phone’s contact list for the purpose of letting you identify contacts who are bloomlife users. We do not store your phone’s contact list, and it is deleted immediately after it is used for this purpose.
We may use your email address to send you information about the Service, or to market other related services to you. You may unsubscribe from marketing notifications by following the instructions contained within the notification or the instructions on our website.
You may not opt out of service-related emails that are considered necessary to providing you with the Service and fulfilling our contractual duties to you, as specified in our Terms of Services. Your continued use of the Service evidences your continued consent to receiving such service-related emails.
Additional optional information
You can customize your bloomlife experience by adding other types of information to your account, such as your height, weight, ethnicity, occupation, your level of physical activity, your due date, whether it’s your first pregnancy, if you already have children, if you’ve had a history or currently have gestational diabetes or gestational hypertension, and your name. We will use this data to personalize your experience in using the Service.
Before you add this type of information you will need to provide additional consent to allow this data to be collected and stored in your bloomlife account.
With your consent, and after de-identifying the information as described above, we may use this data to further develop and improving the Service.
Whenever you contact bloomlife for help, we collect your name and email address along with additional information you provide in your request so that we can provide you with assistance and improve the bloomlife Service, as with the data collected via your use of the device or shared by you in your account, we will ensure this data is stored securely.
You can also contact bloomlife on public forums such as Twitter or Facebook; however, we cannot maintain the privacy of your communication with us if you contact us through these channels.
Data transfers to bloomlife business in other countries
Bloomlife is established in the USA and also in Belgium. If you live in the EU (regardless of your nationality) all the services we provide must comply with the European General Data Protection Regulation. If your data are collected in the EU we will transfer the data to the USA in order to provide services to you. Such data transfers are made on the basis of Binding Corporate Rules which ensure that our legal entity in the USA conforms to all the requirements of the European law.
TRANSMIT LOG DATA
When you use the Service, bloomlife may receive information (“Log Data“) such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the referring web page, pages visited, location, your mobile carrier, Device information (including Device and application IDs), data about the transmission of data from the Device to our servers (including date and time of the transmission and battery level at the time of transmission), and cookie information. We receive Log Data when you interact with the Service, for example, when you visit bloomlife’s websites, sign into the Service, use the App, or interact with email notifications. bloomlife uses Log Data to provide, understand, and improve the Service and to make inferences about your health and wellness. bloomlife uses this information to troubleshoot the Service; to detect and protect against error, fraud or other criminal activity; and to enforce the bloomlife’s Terms of Services.
You may provide your payment information, including your credit or debit card number, card expiration date, CVV code (collectively, “Payment Information”), along with your shipping address, to complete a commerce transaction through the Service. bloomlife does not view or store your Payment Information. Payment Information is handled by our third-party payment processor. We store your shipping address so we can process your order either directly or through our fulfillment partner. If you are logged into your bloomlife account when you purchase something on our Site, we associate that order with your bloomlife account.
COMMUNICATE WITH MEMBERS OF YOUR BIRTH TEAM
ACTIVATE LOCATION FEATURES
When you use the Service, bloomlife may collect and process information about your actual location. We use various technologies to determine location, including IP address, GPS, and other sensors that may for example, provide bloomlife with information on nearby devices, WiFi access points and cell towers. bloomlife only collects location data when the the Service is being used. We use this information to provide and improve the service, for example by being able to determine your time zone.
THIRD PARTIES AND AFFILIATES
bloomlife may also ask you to participate in surveys (processed by bloomlife or third parties) that help us understand your use of the Service. Any information you provide to bloomlife (or supplied by you or bloomlife to such third-party survey providers) in connection with these surveys will only be used in relation to that survey and as stated in this policy.
USER CONSENT OR DIRECTION
We will only share or disclose your information if you have provided consent. You may, for example, consent to participate in a research study conducted by a third-party or use features of the Service that are intended to publicly share information, such as posting to a community bulletin board.

NON-PRIVATE OR NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may share or disclose non-private, aggregated or otherwise non-personal information with third-party entities for the purpose of informing the health community about trends; for marketing and promotional use.
We store your personal data for as long as you maintain a bloomlife account and for one year thereafter for audit purposes.
Accessing and modifying your data
Data that you provide to bloomlife through the Service can be modified from your dashboard or bloomlife account preferences. If you remove data from your bloomlife account, it will no longer appear to you or others who use the bloomlife Service. Backups of that data may remain associated with your bloomlife account and in our archive servers.
You may also deactivate your bloomlife account by contacting customer support at firstname.lastname@example.org. When you do, data that can identify you will be removed from the bloomlife Service, including but not limited to your email, name, and occupation. Backup copies of this data will be removed from our server based upon an automated schedule, which means it may persist in our archive for a short period. bloomlife may continue to use your de-identified data after you deactivate your account.
Policy towards children
The Service is intended for adult users over the age of 18. Thus, bloomlife does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the child’s account. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at email@example.com .
bloomlife uses a combination of technical and administrative security controls to maintain the security of your data. If you have a security-related concern, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Please contact bloomlife immediately if you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure.
Does bloomlife honor “do not track” signals?
Although we would like to honor the browsers set with a Do Not Track (“DNT”) signal, the Service does not currently respond to a DNT or similar signals as it awaits the results of efforts by the policy and legal community to determine the meaning of DNT and the proper way to respond.
